Looking Back

World, I Still Love You

Since I’ve last been to church,

We’ve found another way to search,

For the lost, the sad and broken,

So that they might hear Gods love still spoken.

We zoomed and met for worship and prayer,

We telephoned friends to say we care,

We clapped for those who fight so hard,

We wrote some letters and sent some cards.

We tied prayer ribbons, we held out hope,

We took food parcels as many can’t cope,

We shared messy church and laughed with friends,

We grieved, even though funerals we couldn’t attend.

But most of all we cried out for healing,

So that we could be free and no longer shielding,

We found that our God remains the same,

And so our hope for restoration is not in vain.

And as we return to our once locked buildings,

We rejoice in our God who never stops searching,

And who guides us in new ways to remain so true

As He whispers gently, ‘World, I still love you.’❤️
